Travel through Canada’s Beautiful Backcountry by Dog Team

Travel by dog team is part of Canada’s heritage and you now have an opportunity to partake in this authentic Canadian experience. Follow in the tracks of the legendary Ike Mills and his team of big-hearted huskies who travelled these valleys 100 years ago, resupplying the Canadian Pacific Railway’s back- country lodges.

We will be travelling up a valley in Yoho National Park, under the North Peak of Mt Victoria, Mt Cathedral and the Watchtower. While the dogs are the stars of the show and will hold most of your attention, your guide will point out the blue-white glaciers, mountain top cornices sculpted by wind, and local critter tracks, while sharing the history of travel by dog team. They will also happily tell tales of life with sled-dogs and boast shamelessly about their dog team!

There will be ample time to get to know your wonderful dogs and to take plenty of memorable photos.

With safety in mind, if possible we will invite you to drive the team for part of your tour with the assistance of your guide.

Toss happy snacks to your team once back, and enjoy a few more bits of doggie love while getting your final photos. A hot beverage and tasty treat await you for your short trip back to Lake Louise.

Included in your Tour:

• 15 minutes Transportation from Lake Louise Village to staging area
• 15 minute meet and greet your team and private Professional Musher (FREE Dog kisses)
• 1.5 hours Adventurous Dog sledding (approximately 11kms)
• 10 minute Feed chicken snacks to your team, more free kisses, beverage and snack.
• 15 minute Transportation back to Lake Louise Village
