Our longest and most popular tour! Often described by our guests as the highlight of their trip to Canada.
This is our short introductory tour that covers the “sweet spot” of the Lake Louise scenery.
We offer dog sledding tours in beautiful Lake Louise, Banff National Park, Canada’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. For a treasured lifetime memory, come mushing with our happy and hard-working Alaskan huskies. Kingmik guides have many years of experience “on the runners” in the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Alaska, B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Quebec, and the lower 48. They know and love dogs and are dedicated and caring dog drivers. Each holds first aid certifications and most have had extensive wilderness experiences.
It's hard to know what to mention first! The amazing personalities of the dogs? (even in the span of a couple hours you start to see their uniqueness - it's hard not to fall in love! :) ) The infectious passion of the guides? (Megan was awesome, and shared with us her love for the dogs, the land, and her sport) The beautiful scenery? (what better way to take in the mountains and forest in true Canadian winter) We left feeling inspired, and with smiles on our faces all day! For us it was an amazing "once-in-a-lifetime" experience, but we may just have to go back again ;) THANK YOU Megan & Kingmik & Lily (our team leader)
– TripadvisorOMG! This was by far the best event of the week! The dogs are amazing and well trained. We were so impressed by the guides and how well they took care of the dogs. And not only did they take such good care of them, but they knew each and every one of their personalities. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! And I fell in love with one of the dogs that were up for adoption. We get to pick him up in April. So excited! And our guide Kylie was super awesome!
– TripadvisorWe arrived for our 1.5hour dog sled tour to some very excited dogs and very welcoming tour guides. We were able to meet our team, learn all their names and get in some cuddles before setting off on our journey. The scenery was just breathtaking - we were wrapped up nice and cosy in our sled and Kylie our musher talked us through the area, the dogs likes and dislikes and what we saw along the way. The dogs are so well cared for and are absolutely gorgeous! They loved getting lots of cuddles and we even got to feed them a ‘snack’ at the end! What an absolutely unforgettable experience! If you’re looking for a reputable dog sled tour with excellent dog care look no further!! Thank you so much Kingmik for a once in a lifetime opportunity!
– TripadvisorWhile up at Lake Louise for a weekend charity event and had the pleasure of participating in this dog-sledding activity. Our musher (Chloe) was very friendly, but also very caring and passionate about her team of dogs. We were introduced to each and were educated as to their individual personalities, strengths (and weaknesses). We were very impressed by the company's life-long care of these beautiful dogs. Very comfortable riding in the sled and were even given the opportunity to drive (well sort of). I would highly recommend this outing for anyone looking. I would recommend booking early though as my attempt last year on short notice was unsuccessful.
Kingmik deserves more than five stars! We booked the Great Divide Tour on December 23. The area received a LOT of snow a couple of days before, but the team at Kingmik worked hard to get the trail back in shape for tours quickly. It is amazing that they were able to do that in such a short period of time. We arrived to the staging area earlier than we needed and were allowed to interact with the dogs and watch the mushers prep for the tours. The dogs were really sweet and the mushers were very pleasant, answering questions and allowing us to watch them work.
– TripadvisorI was very impressed with the staff and how the dogs were managed. As a dog lover I appreciate how much care and attention goes into raising happy healthy dogs. I speak from having to care for 2 dogs....There were more than 60 dogs when we went and all the dogs were happy and well cared for. The mushers knew each dog down to their personality. Which ones got along, which ones didn't, and what they liked or didn't like. Very unique experience.
– TripadvisorSearch no farther, it's time to book your dog sledding tour with Kingmik. My wife and I recently visited Lake Louise three weekends ago (right before COVID-19 started) to have an adventurous weekends in the Canadian Rockies. Needless to say we were blown away by the adventure, skiing, and scenery!
– TripadvisorThis was the coolest thing my wife and I have ever experienced. We had a fantastic trip all around Banff and Lake Louise, but this was hands down the highlight. Craig was our musher and he was nothing short of fantastic. He answered a ton of questions throughout the ride, sharing excellent knowledge regarding the dogs, how they're cared for during the various seasons, lots of info on the Iditarod, and anything we wanted to know about the area. You could easily tell how connected he and the other mushers are to the dogs and that they don't treat it as a job, but their life and family.
– TripadvisorMy husband and I did the 1.5-hour tour and it was amazing! It was worth every penny. Our guide was great. It is evident that the dogs are well cared for and respected. We loved the actual dog sledding and also enjoyed playing with the dogs, feeding them, and seeing their personalities. I highly recommend this tour!
– Christina L. | TripAdvisorWe thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We learned so much about the Alaskan huskies. The trail to the Great Divide smooth and picturesque, we really enjoyed our time with our guide James who showed much passion, knowledge, and love for his job and his fellow team (dogs)! We highly recommend this tour!

– Naomi T. | TripAdvisorWatching the dogs and taking in the scenery was awesome! After 5 miles and at the Great Divide we stopped for about 10 minutes for photos and another opportunity to learn about the team. My husband chose to drive the sled back to base camp and with James' assistance, off we went. We highly recommend this tour!
